
Besting rivals like the Cadillac ATS, Lexus ES 350 and Lincoln MKS, the Hyundai Genesis has won the near-luxury segment in Strategic Vision’s 2013 Total Quality Index (TQI). It could have beaten out some of the true-lux entries as well, according to Alexander Edwards, president of Strategic Vision. As he noted: “The only thing that keeps the Hyundai Genesis from competing in the luxury category is its price point. The car’s ability to rub shoulders with its more expensive European rivals really shows the depth of Hyundai’s product lineup, and serves as an example for foreign and domestic brands alike.”

If you’re looking for tech specs right now on the 2014 Hyundai Genesis, you may have to wait a bit. According to Edmunds, Hyundai’s entry-lux sedan is tentatively scheduled to debut at next year’s North American International Auto Show in Detroit. These means it will go on sale as either a 2014 or 2015 model.

With the last exterior panel now in place on the main office tower, Hyundai’s new American headquarters facility—located in Fountain Valley, California—has entered its final stages of construction. The 500,000-square-foot complex is scheduled for completion later this year, and much like the vehicles that Hyundai builds in this country, it will be both stylish and efficient, thanks in large part to those glass panels.
