Hyundai Tucson Offers More For Less

by Hyundai in the News on December 23, 2008

The Hyundai Tucson was originally unveiled in 2005 as a competitive entry into the compact SUV segment. Since its introduction, it has been a contender within this growing segment.

Slated below the Hyundai Santa Fe, the Tucson has offered much of the same appeal to buyers as its larger stablemate. But for the current model year, not much has changed. The powertrain remains the only significant update. Currently, buyers visiting Boston Hyundai dealers can still choose between a V6 or four-cylinder engine, with available front or all-wheel-drive. There’s also an addition of an auxiliary jack for MP3 players which is now standard on every Tucson, plus standard cruise control with an automatic transmission.

Hyundai Tucson models that are equipped with all-wheel drive provide the front-wheels with power, and transfers power to the rear wheels whenever slippage is detected. This system provides outstanding all-weather traction according to Hyundai dealer Lancaster PA buyers, especially on snow or mud-covered surfaces. Both the all-wheel drive system and front-wheel drive models are complimented by standard electronic stability control.

The 2.0-liter four cylinder model is available with a five-speed manual transmission. The more powerful V6 is far more powerful, and is mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. When underway, the Hyundai Tucson provides responsive handling that should appeal to plenty of drivers. There’s even excellent visibility, which is a plus for many buyers considering a sport utility vehicle at Hyundai Texarkana. Thanks to the visibility and large mirrors, the Tucson is easy to navigate through traffic and parking lots.

Despite its compact size on the outside, the Hyundai Tucson offers plenty of space inside. Even rear seat passengers should find the Tucson to have plenty of room, and even boasts more leg room in back than the larger Santa Fe. The rear seats can fold flat, which Hyundai dealers Albany say provides more than enough room for any cargo you may have. There’s even a removable tray underneath the rear floor.

Overall quality and fit and finish for the Hyundai Tucson is good, although some interior pieces are are made of low quality plastics. However the Tucson remains a competitive player in the compact segment, but it can be expected that when it’s due for a full redesign, the vehicle will likely provide even greater amenities, comfort, and overall quality as Portland ME Hyundai visitors have been unexpectedly surprised by the level of luxury found in newer Hyundai models such as the Genesis and Veracruz.
